11.30.09Raymond Biswanger Slide Collection at UPenn Rare Books LibraryThe University of Pennsylvania Rare Books Library has a series of excellent image collections on their website for anyone to view. I stumbled upon the Raymond Biswanger collection of literary landscapes today, which absolutely blew my mind. Biswanger's hobby was photographing the places that authors either visited during their lifetimes or wrote about in their novels. Featured are picture collections of Poe, Wordsworth, Shakespeare, and the Brontes, among others. I highly recommend the pictures taken of Poe's romps around Philadelphia, shot in the 1950's.

I went to the Museum of Science and Industry to visit the remaining site of the World's Fair, I visited Daniel Burnham's elevated buildings in the Loop, and I took a bus down to the corner of 63rd and Edgewood, the site of serial killer H.H.
